This healthy chipotle ranch dressing is easy to make in only 5 minutes in the blender. It's made with a base of greek yogurt, dried herbs, and spicy chipotle peppers.
About The Dressing
This dressing is next-level: not only does it have all the creaminess of classic ranch, it uses canned chipotle peppers for a spicy kick! If you've never had it before, Chipotle ranch is delicious because of this balance of spice and creaminess.
This recipe is actually exactly the same as our Healthier Ranch Dressing, only with peppers added.
What makes this recipe 'healthier'? It swaps out sour cream and buttermilk (used in traditional ranch) for a base of greek yogurt, which keeps it creamy and protein-packed.
Note: this recipe makes a large batch of dressing (not a single serving). It yields about 1 ½ cups so you can make it once and enjoy it all week long.
Ingredients
Here's what you'll need to make this recipe:
- Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- Greek yogurt
- Olive oil
- Lemon juice
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Dried dill
- Dried parsley
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Step 1: Add to Blender
Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Add water if you need to thin the dressing.
PRO TIP: if you prefer a milder sauce, start by adding half of a chipotle pepper. Taste the dressing and add more until you reach your desired spice level.
Step 2: Enjoy!
Enjoy with your favorite salads as a dressing or use as a dip.
Step 3: Store in Fridge
Store in an airtight container (like a jar) in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Ingredient Notes:
Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce: these can be found in a small can usually next to the salsa or other canned peppers in the grocery store. I'd recommend adding half of a pepper or 1 pepper and then tasting the dressing and adding more until you reach your desired spice level.
Yogurt: use full-fat plain (unflavored) greek yogurt. Non-fat greek yogurt will also work but tastes less creamy and slightly more sour/tangy.
Make it into ranch dressing: leave out the chipotle peppers and this recipe transforms into our deliciously creamy Healthier Ranch Dressing! Try this variation when you want to skip the spice.
What to Use Chipotle Ranch For
Chipotle ranch is delicious to use as a dressing for salads or as a dip for vegetables. It will work with almost any salad, especially those with more Mexican or Southwest-inspired ingredients.
It's also tasty on vegetable-heavy salads or as a dip for raw or cooked vegetables.
The salads that you'll want to skip using this dressing on would be Italian or fruit-inspired salads. For those, try a classic italian or balsamic dressing.
If you need a couple recipe ideas to get started, this dressing is delicious with our Taco Salad or Southwest Salad.
How to Store This Dressing
Store any leftover dressing in a glass airtight container in the fridge (like a jar).
This dressing will stay good for about 1 week, if stored properly.

Notes
*A note on spice: add 1 adobo pepper (or half) to give this recipe a milder spice level. Also add the pepper without additional sauce from the can to cut down on spice. Adding 1 pepper makes this dressing spicy; adding 2 makes it hot. You can start by adding half of a pepper and then add more until you get to your desired spice level.
