How to Make Easy Marinated Tofu

? Step 1: Prepare the tofu

Press the tofu for 20 minutes using a tofu press or by wrapping it in a kitchen towel and pressing it between two cutting boards with a heavy object (like books) on top.

? Step 2: Make the marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, and maple syrup.

? Step 3: Cut the tofu

Slice the tofu into cubes about ½ inch thick.

⏲️ Step 4: Marinate the tofu

Add the tofu to a shallow dish (like an 8 x 8” baking dish or pie tin). Pour the marinade over the tofu. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Marinate for longer or overnight for stronger flavor.

? Step 5: Cook the tofu

In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the sesame oil. Once hot, add the tofu to the skillet and set aside any remaining marinade. Cook for about 5 - 7 minutes, flip and cook for 5 minutes more. Tofu should be browned.

? Step 6: Add any extra marinade

Turn the heat to medium-low and pour in any remaining marinade. Cook 2 - 3 minutes more.

    ? Step 7: Serve

Serve warm. Optionally, serve over white rice, garnished with green onions, and drizzled with your favorite sauce (we like to use Sriracha mayo).
