Description
A classic recipe for a cheese ball that's made with a creamy, flavorful mix of cheese and then covered in pecans. This traditional recipe is best served as an appetizer with crackers for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup pecans (finely chopped)
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 4 green onions (chopped)
Instructions
- To a medium mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix for 1 minute with an electric mixer, until combined and smooth.
- Add cheese and green onions. Stir to combine. Cover and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Remove from fridge and place on plastic wrap. Wrap in plastic wrap and shape into a ball. If you don’t have plastic wrap, you can also shape the ball with your hands (wet them slightly first to prevent sticking).
- Finely chop the pecans with a knife or food processor. Add them to a shallow bowl. Roll the cheese ball in the pecans until all sides (except for the bottom) are covered.
- Refrigerate for 15 - 20 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers.
