This recipe is naturally dairy free, gluten free, low carb & paleo. It's also Whole30 (when using compliant versions of condiments for the special sauce).

    Burger Bowls Ingredients

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
    • Salt & pepper, to taste
    • 6 - 8 cups chopped Romaine lettuce
    • 1 avocado, sliced
    • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
    • ½ cup thinly sliced red onion
    • ⅓ cup sliced pickles

    Popular Additions & Substitutions:

Bacon: add chopped bacon as a topping on your bowls for added crunch!

Cheese: shredded cheddar cheese is another favorite topping

Guacamole: swap the sliced avocado for guacamole on your bowls for some added flavor

Turkey: use 1 pound of ground turkey instead of beef if you prefer

    How to Make Burger Bowls

    Step 1: cook the beef

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook and crumble the beef until browned, about 5 - 7 minutes. Add garlic powder, salt & pepper as the beef cooks. Drain excess grease when done.

    Step 2: Make the sauce

While the beef cooks, stir together the ingredients for the sauce.

    Step 3: Assemble the bowls

Start with a layer of lettuce and then add all of the burger bowl toppings, including cooked ground beef. Finish with a drizzle of the special sauce.

Tips & Tricks for This Recipe

Make burger patties: instead of cooking & crumbling your ground beef, you can make burger patties to serve on top of your bowl.

Serve with fries: add a side of fries to turn these bowls into a complete burger experience!

    Storage

In the fridge: store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 - 4 days. To make this recipe as meal prep, store ready-to-go bowls individually with all the toppings already added.

In the freezer: it's not recommended to freeze this recipe as most of the ingredients are fresh.
