Easy Hummus Recipe

This easy hummus recipe uses only 5 ingredients & is ready in 5 minutes. It's made from the perfect traditional mix of chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, tahini & salt.

  • 2 cups chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt


  • Blend: add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. 
  • Add water: add 1 tablespoon of water at a time until your hummus reaches your desired consistency (I usually end up adding 2 tablespoons).
  • Taste test: taste and add additional salt if preferred. 
  • Serve: serve as a dip for chips, fruit or vegetables or use as a spread for toast or sandwiches. Optionally, top with a drizzle of olive oil & a sprinkle of chili powder.
