Vegan Cashew Queso Recipe

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder


  • Blend: add all of the ingredients along with ¾ cup hot water to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. If needed, add additional water 1 tablespoon at a time until queso reaches desired consistency. 
  • Taste test: taste and adjust flavors if desired. For example, add more hot sauce for a spicier queso. 
  • Serve: serve as a dip for chips or use as a topping. Optionally, garnish with chopped cilantro.
