Easy Vegan Black Bean Burgers

These easy vegan black bean burgers are super simple with only 5 ingredients and ready in 15 minutes. They're a tasty dinner or meal-prep recipe that you'll want to make again & again!

Ingredients

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans black beans, drained & rinsed
  • ½ cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Grind the oats: in a food processor or blender, pulse the oats until they are ground into a fine consistency. 
  • Mix the ingredients: in a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients. Use a fork or potato masher to mash and mix the beans. 
  • Make the patties: divide the mixture into 4 even portions. Shape each portion into a ball and then flatten it to make a patty. 
  • Cook the burgers: in a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 patty (or more if there’s room in your skillet). Cook for 5 - 7 minutes on each side, until cooked through and browned. Flip the burgers gently so that they maintain their shape. 
  • Serve: serve warm on a hamburger bun with all of your favorite fixings! 

Notes

  • Oats: you can use old fashion or quick cook oats for this recipe.
